It is the time to Honor our nation's veterans and active military members! Spend some time this holoiday weekend to remember and give thanks for the sacrifices these brave soldiers have made in order to keep us safe and protect the freedoms that we as Americans hold so dear. Celebrate Earth Day in the Beautiful Fox River Valley!

Earth Day is Monday, April 22nd!!! The Fox River Valley is known for its incredible natural environment and residents in our communities take great pride in all the gifts that Mother Earth has bestowed upon our area. Celebrate the great outdoors and protect our environment for this and future generations during Earth Day! There are fantastic community events taking place in honor of the day. Gather your family and join your neighbors at these Earth Day celebrations throughout the Fox River Valley.


Earth Day Tree Planting

Date: Sunday, April 20th

Location: Big Rock Forest Preserve (46W072 Jericho Road, Big Rock)

Help make a difference this Earth Day by helping the Forest Preserve District of Kane County plant hundreds of trees in nearby Big Rock. This is a great way to get active and help Mother Earth. Earth Day Open House

Earth Day Celebrations in the Fox River Valley!

Home owners in the Fox Valley know that one of the perks of living here is the stunning natural environment. With miles of glistening river ways and peaceful green spaces, the Fox Valley is filled with incredible spaces for outdoor recreation and enjoyment. In order for all current and future residents in our area to benefit from this natural environment, we need to protect it. Earth Day is April 22nd and there are numerous celebrations planned throughout our communities. Bring your family to celebrate the beauty of our natural surroundings and help conserve it for generations to come.


Earth Day Recycling Extravaganza

Date: Saturday, April 21st

Time: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Location: Oswego Village Hall (100 Parkers Mill, Oswego)

Oswego’s ECO Commission is holding a special Earth Day Event for the Village. Watch demonstrations beekeeping, composting, rain barrels, and raising chickens. Bring in eye glasses, packing materials, batteries, medical prescriptions, electronics, styrofoam, and more for safe recycling. Enjoy the book and bicycle exchanges. Pick up your rain barrel from Upcycle Products to help collect water that can be used for your lawn and garden. Watch the planting of two trees at the Village Hall at 10:00 am.
