While this long holiday weekend most often signifies the beginning of summer with the kids out of school, pools opening, picnics and BBQs with friends and family, and overall celebration, we must remember WHY we have this holiday. Memorial Day is here for us to remember the sacrifice made by men and women who have served our country in order for us to enjoy the freedom that is so important to Americans. So please remember to take a moment to thank our veterans this weekend, and every day.

Happy Memorial Day from The Rullo Team!

Staging Your Home to Sell this Spring in the Fox Valley!

by The Rullo Team

As we now progress from spring into summer can you guess what that means? It’s BUYING season! If you are looking to SELL its time to get your Fox Valley home ready with these great Staging Tips from the professionals at HGTV!

Open those curtains!! Instant brightness adds a lot to a showing. And if it is raining, make sure to turn on all of the lights.

Drop the dark bring out the bright colors!! Botanical colors and prints give rooms a cheerful feel. I know it was a LONG winter, so rejoice the spring weather and put away your furry winter blankets and replace with flower prints (Lavender, yellow, sage green and pale blue color are particularly nice!).

Candles are a must!! Enough said.

Clear your Counters!! Put away your toaster, coffee machine, and pretty much everything else except a nice bowl of fresh fruit. Buyers can be deterred by clutter.

Clean Clean Clean….and then clean a little more!! Get your scrub brush out because it is time to get your home looking squeaky clean. A home that sparkles and is decluttered portrays a home as airy and spacious.

And don’t forget to Clean your Floors and Walls!! A bucket of warm water with a few drops of mild soap and a sponge goes a long way and will clean off most wall marks and if you have some extra bad marks, grab a magic eraser cleaning pad.

Landscape!! Make the most of curb appeal! It might be time to invest in a landscaper, as a pristine yard goes a long way with potential buyers.

The list of 100 safest cities in America were recently announced by SafeWise and six of them were located in Illinois….and at the top of those six, and #10 in the nation, was Campton Hills!! Click here to view the entire article.

Located West of Chicago, this wonderful and SAFE community of Campton Hills is known for its parks, historic farms, and for participating in programs that encourage people to spend time outdoors. “Leave No Child Inside” is an initiative by the Chicago WIlderness, which Campton Hills actively participates in, that encourages children to reconnect with nature.

With all of that time being spent outdoors and keeping an eye out for crime it is no surprise that Campton Hills made this list! To see all available homes for sale in West Chicago, please click here.

Starting a business is both a challenging and rewarding experience for entrepreneurs! One of the first things to think about is WHERE to build your company? It is a common misconception that big cities are the best places to start a new business, but depending on the type of business you are planning to run, BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER. Reboot Illinois recently published an article about the Best Small Cities in Illinois to Start a Business, and to uncover this list, analysts studied factors such as cost of living, corporate taxes, office space availability, number of start ups, etc.. at more than 1,200 small cities across the United States. Can you guess who made the list? Our very own St. Charles--- #21!

St. Charles is officially a perfect place to start a business, and also a wonderful place to live! Offering both charm and modern conveniences, St. Charles, IL a great place to buy a new home. Click here to see current available homes in the St. Charles, Geneva, and Batavia communities.
