Come spring, Randall Road could have life-saving yellow left-turn arrows at 11 intersections, the Kane County Division of Transportation reports. Work on the first project should start this fall and be completed by early 2015 at these intersections:

  • Gleneagle Drive
  • Christina Lane
  • Fargo Boulevard
  • Keslinger/Kaneville Road
  • Prairie Street
  • Oak Street
  • Dean Street
  • Red Haw Lane/Oakcrest Drive
  • Red Gate Road
  • Bolcum Road/Ridgewood Drive
  • Silver Glen Road

Two more projects will be completed after this first one, and should be completed by 2017. For information on how these flashing yellow left-turn signals have been successful at reducing fatalities and accidents with injuries, and video for a full verbal and visual explanation, visit the Kane County Connects website.

ARE YOU AN APRIL FOOL??

by The Rullo Team

April Fools' Day is celebrated on 1 April every year. It is widely recognized and celebrated in various countries as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other.

One of the best:  The BBC television program Panorama ran a hoax in 1957, showing Swiss harvesting spaghetti from trees. They had claimed that the despised pest, the spaghetti weevil, had been eradicated. A large number of people contacted the BBC wanting to know how to cultivate their own spaghetti trees.

Daylight Saving Time 2014

by The Rullo Team

...begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 9 (and ends at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 2)

Daylight saving time is the practice of advancing clocks during the lighter months so that evenings have more apparent daylight and mornings have less.  Clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in the autumn. The official spelling is Daylight Saving Time, not Daylight SavingS Time.

How to Love ME (or Your Dog)

by The Rullo Team

Scratch me on the side of the neck or on my chest. I don’t like hugs and kisses (most of us don’t), but I love to sit with you while you read or watch TV.  See if I’m in the mood to be petted – If you stop and I try to get you to continue, that means I like it! I like to go for lots of walks!

When I’m happy, I pant and wag my tail loosely (or I might wag all over).  When I do something right, give me a treat or praise, petting or play. And finally, I always like a long-lasting chew treat while I’m lounging by myself.

Love your dog on Valentine’s Day (and everyday) ‘cause we always love you!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY from THE RULLO TEAM!

by The Rullo Team

The rose is red, the violet's blue,

The honey's sweet, and so are you.
Thou art my love and I am thine;
I drew thee to my Valentine:
The lot was cast and then I drew,

And Fortune said it shou'd be you.

…from the collection of English nursery rhymes Gammer Gurton's Garland (1784):
