Oswego Illinois Real Estate

Located in Kendall County, Oswego was established in 1833 and is located along the Fox River.  Originally known as “Hudson” and then “Lodi”, the town was officially named Oswego after a vote in 1837 by its citizens.  A main reason for residential growth in Oswego has been attributed to its location along Illinois Route 25, 31 and 71.  From 1959 – 1979, the village obtained popularity due to its dragstrip along Route 31 that attracted many muscle cars throughout the Midwest.  The building of many industrial plants in town, beginning in the 1950’s, allowed for the village to expand west of the Fox River, which is where its boundaries remain today.
